Agile from the Development Team Perspective

Developers are typically the largest part of development organisations, yet they are often only involved in Agile transformations during the implementation phase.

The result are questions such as:

  • Why are we introducing Agile in the first place?
  • How will this affect my work?
  • Will I now spend most of my time in meetings?
  • Do these changes make sense?
  • How do I recognise good Agile practice?
  • How can the development team contribute to improving the organisation?

The Agile Lean for Developers course is designed for developers, testers, architects and other product team members who want to understand Agile and Lean approaches from the perspective of day-to-day development work. The focus is not on learning a specific framework, but on understanding the principles behind Agile approaches and their impact on development teams, products and the organisation.

 

After completing the course, you will:

  • understand the fundamental principles of Agile and Lean approaches,
  • distinguish between Agile philosophy and individual frameworks,
  • understand the process, advantages and limitations of Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban approaches,
  • be able to identify the most common Agile antipatterns,
  • understand the impact of Agile approaches on technical quality, productivity and technical debt,
  • know the basics of Test Driven Development (TDD),
  • understand the roles of Product Owner, Scrum Master and developers in the Agile process,
  • gain the ability to critically evaluate Agile practices and organisational changes,
  • collaborate more effectively in your organisation’s Agile transformation.

Agile Lean for Developers is a 2-day, 9-hour course available in Slovenian or English. It is conducted via remote platform and runs daily from 8:00 to approximately 12:30.

Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of completion.

It is designed specifically for developers who want to understand Agile and Lean approaches, improve their day-to-day work, identify dysfunctional practices and actively influence how their teams and organisations operate.

  • Scaled-down Scrum Master course.
  • Brainwashing of developers to non-critically accept chosen Agile framework and stop questioning delegated decisions.
  • Focused on only one framework.
  • Focused on certification, although it gives enough knowledge for participants to pass Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification from scrum.org.

This course is:

  • Unique on the market as it is developer-centric.
  • Presenting Agile and Lean approaches from the developer’s perspective.
  • Helping developers to establish better work-life balance.
  • Meant to give developers knowledge and tools to steer their chosen approach.
